About positive tech news

Good tech news isn’t the same as product launches. Here you’ll find stories where technology is solving a real problem: cheaper clean energy, medical devices that reach more patients, open tools that make knowledge easier to share, and researchers fixing flaws in systems we already rely on.

Hard questions aren’t filtered out. A story about AI safety or online privacy can still score well when it reports progress: a fix found, a rule that works, a community taking back control. What sinks to the bottom is the pile-on: outrage, spectacle and breathless speculation.

Over the last month, most tech stories here came from MIT Technology Review, BBC World News and Singularity Hub.

Hopeflo checks its sources every hour and scores each story from 0 (heavy) to 100 (uplifting) with AI. By default you see stories that score 40 or more; the spectrum at the top of the page changes that. How Hopeflo works
