Good news about climate change

Real progress on climate change: clean energy records, falling emissions, restored ecosystems and the people making it happen, from trusted publishers.

Most climate coverage is about how bad things could get. That matters, but on its own it leaves out half the picture: a great deal of the work to cut emissions and adapt is already under way, and much of it is going better than expected.

This page gathers that half. You’ll find solar and wind projects coming online, cities and companies cutting pollution, new ideas in batteries, heat pumps and transport, and forests, wetlands and peatlands being protected or brought back.

Good news here doesn’t mean the problem is solved. Every story is scored for what it reports, so a hard-won step forward in a difficult fight can score high, while hype and greenwashing are pushed down.
